200 Alabama Bicentennial

Celebrating Alabama’s 200th birthday2017 2018 2019

Join the Alabama Bicentennial Commission as it commemorates the bicentennial of the 1817 formation of the State of Mississippi and the Alabama Territory for a free, fun-filled, mind-expanding day of genealogical instruction.

Teachers from both states will present tools they have discovered that will ensure your day is worthwhile and you go home with knowledge to fill the gaps in your own genealogical research.

Courses will be offered in separate tracks for those who are self-taught/moderately experienced at genealogy and for those who are beginners or fairly new to genealogy. One course will be offered specifically for those who are encountering roadblocks in slave research.
