2017 - 2018 - 2019

On March 3, the Governor's Office and Senator Arthur Orr, chair of the bicentennial commission, officially announced Alabama’s bicentennial commemoration.

On May 5th, the City of Mobile will host a formal ceremony launching the three-year birthday celebration.

The March press conference laid out the plans and initiatives that will keep Alabama busy until Alabama Day—December 14—2019. Mobile, the state's oldest city, will see that the commemoration begins with appropriate ceremony—and fun!

Events are free and open to the public. Stay tuned for more information or call the office of the Alabama Bicentennial Commission at 334-242-4537.
